BIO

Laura Caban is an integral part of the LBA team as she is involved in most areas of the business.  She is driven by her dedication to helping others and her love for learning.

Her interest in human behavior developed while she was pursuing her BA in Psychology at Lehigh University.  During that time, she worked as a research assistant and was fascinated by the effect mindset can have on behavior.   She also participated in student organizations with a focus on humanitarian projects.

Laura was then accepted into the NYC Teaching Fellows program and began teaching in the NYC Public School system.  She earned her MS in Secondary Education from Pace University. After 5 years teaching at the middle school level, she joined her principal and a select few colleagues in opening a new high school in Queens, where she served as department chairperson, teacher and distance-learning director.

In 2015 she joined the team at LBA.  Her current role is multi-faceted as Laura is committed to continuously improving operations and client experience.  In addition to coordinating schedules and travel, she identifies and implements productivity-enhancing systems, contributes to the development of our services, and provides critical support to the coaches and team.  She is equally instrumental in leading our marketing efforts and managing our blog, “The TrendSpotter.”

How does your previous experience shape how you approach your work now?

My experience is the most divergent from everybody else’s on the team, having been a Middle and High School teacher in New York City public schools. With teaching, you need to always be flexible because no two kids are the same, no two lessons are the same, and no two days are the same. There is constant change and growth. I have taken this agility with me to Liz Bentley Associates. A ‘ready for anything’ feeling guides me in the day-to-day work I do in scheduling, interfacing with clients and promoting our offerings. It also helps me connect to the work we do in helping individuals and organizations achieve their goals.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

My role puts me at the hub of Liz Bentley Associates and connects me to most facets of our business. I set up events, coordinate client meetings and handle the logistics of our coaches’ traveling schedules, so I have a full view of everything that’s going on. I manage our social media to keep everyone informed about our events and services. From the development side, I help the team deliver a high level of service to our clients. Any given day may also find me helping to customize our presentations for our clients, designing our takeaways and promotional items, or speaking with leads to give them an overview of what we do.
